Residential Program
When a child is referred to Cedar Ridge, he is evaluated for placement in one of our residential care units, or “cottages” as we refer to them. His particular needs will determine which cottage is appropriate for him.
Boys stay an average of 12-18 months, although many stay until after their high school graduation. Each cottage is staffed by houseparents, weekday and weekend associates and an overnight awake staff.
The boys have the opportunity to attend a local church each week and may also participate in optional activities such as midweek youth groups, summer camps and special outings. Each cottage has evening devotions and/or discussion sessions that center on practical issues involving honesty, trustworthiness, peer relationships, and positive interaction with adults.
